fuck. to just expand on this. i think i am victim of a rent scam & a whole term of student loans is just gone. i don’t have a place to live and it looks like my classes probably aren’t going to happen, if i cant situate something reasonably close to campus or public transit due to my disabilities.

any mutual aid obviously helps me very much & you are welcome to ask for it. i also feel a lot of guilt receiving help like this.

i’m sleeping on a family friend’s couch tonight, hopefully i’ll have better updates soon

every gym leader is like “I lost!?! UNBELIEVABLE!” buddy you live in a world where every ten year old child has always been offered a free fire breathing monster at least once and you brought nothing to this fight but anthropomorphic flowers

animusbell

gym leaders’ whole job is to provide a specific challenge, a battle of a certain type and difficulty level. if you’ve brought the tools and skills to complete that challenge, you’re going to win by design. the pokémon in that battle are probably not actually the strongest pokemon they have.

when gym leaders go “argh, how could i lose??” they’re acting to give your victory legitimacy because you’re 10. they’re like a villain cosplayer letting a baby knock them over. they’re being nice!!

Able-bodied people (and sometimes disabled/chronically ill people with mild/in remission disease progression) operate under the assumption that medical devices are life(style) limiting and that by using one, you are giving up an able part of yourself.

Medical devices are not life limiting, they are life saving.

Feeding tubes + pumps, piccs, ports, catheters, ostomy bags, cardiac and gastric pacemakers, drains, mobility devices, nebulizers, CGMs, insulin pumps, pain pumps, nerve stimulators, implants, internal defibrillators, etc etc all extend the freedom and life of the user by allowing us to live comfortably with our condition(s).

The assertion that we are limiting ourselves by using medical technology is so prevalent, even in disease-specific communities. There are people in my gastroparesis support groups that are actively starving because they are refusing intervention at this moment, and it's all a byproduct of this mindset that I've touched on before that mental willpower is greater than the progress of chronic illness/disability. And in this case- it's perpetuated by many medical professionals as well. No amount of "eating smaller, more frequent meals" will flip a switch and un-paralyze my stomach, Dr. ER. Hospitalist.

Currently waiting for people to realise that yes, the autistic teens, kids, adults and elders who are always swarmed by aids, cannot speak, lash out, have limited speech, act “dumb”, run away into dangerous places (eg. Roads, pools ect.) when overwhelmed, are similar to the autistic stereotype or in general don’t act in a “civilised manner”

Have access to the internet

They are on tumblr

We are on tumblr

And we don’t appreciate being your punching bag, being excluded from conversations about accessibility, or used as a tool by high functioning autistics who want to say “oh look at me I’m not like the autistics who bite people or make weird sounds in public or need support, I’m just unique and have fun interests.”

We are real people and we are smarter then you think.

hate " smarter than think " because not all people smart and still sometimes is online like this , and , smart ( even " smarter than think " ) is not reason should respect , that still cut people off . but . yes .

some people with autism and intellectual disability together is online .

some people with autism that elope and get in danger is online .

some people with autism that hit bite scream is online .

not all is - sometimes because people will not allow , sometimes because disabilities make too hard . but some do really do things and talk online .
